I'm not a petite woman and this belt is too big for me. I don't know"clings". The belt is so long that the elastic band cannot tear and emphasize the waist. If you have a wide waist or don't like being "tighter", then this belt may be suitable. But for those with a medium waist, remember that this belt is too long for the elastic to stretch. A person with a thin waist may find the belt wraps around the waist 1 1/2 times. I will not be returning the belt but I will take it to a tailor and remove about 2 inches of the elastic. The size, color and overall design are very nice.
