Mine didn't arrive fully functional. When it turned out that it wasn't working properly, I decided to just focus on getting into the menu, so I unplugged everything (including the power cord). I then reconnected the power but left the USB and HDMI cables unconnected. The logo will flash, then the expected "No Signal" display will appear, after which the screen will go "blank". I've turned it off (and unplugged and plugged in the power cord a few times), tried the Auto, Menu, + and - buttons a few times, but the screen still remains dark. , after the initial logo, then the display "No Signal". I will return this item. See update. UPDATE: I worked as a computer repair technician for many years. I have repaired all types of computer equipment (including monitors) down to the component level. I've never come across a working monitor that doesn't allow a person to access the menu that configures the various modes of operation of the monitor itself without having to connect it to a computer. This has changed today. I have found that when the HDMI cable is connected to a running computer, the monitor's menus and associated buttons actually work. It seems very odd to me that setting the monitor's operating modes would require input from a computer, but that's exactly what I found with this one.
