PERFECT refurbishment of old beer signs

I have two Stroh's beer lamps (precious family heirlooms inherited from my father) which were 3w incandescent bulbs. They were pretty weak and would probably burn out soon and I wanted to replace them with LEDs like the lightbulbs in the rest of my house. I wanted something that would let the true colors of the red and green plastic lenses shine through, but didn't want them to be too bright lest they be overpowered as they are intended for ambiance and not lighting a room. These lamps were exactly what I was looking for! The 5000K color was perfect for making it look clean and new. Definitely more light output than the old 3 watts which can hardly be heard in a properly lit room. With my new lighting in the basement it was PERFECT. Enough light output to make them easy to spot and bright, and not too much to make them painful for the eyes to look at. Shown is a smaller wall sign with one light and a hanging/rotating sign with two lights below. On the pictured rotating sign you can see the red light reflected in the corner of the wall and the two bulbs at the base, illuminating both hemispheres evenly from top to bottom. With 6 in my pocket I was able to give half to my brother who inherited the same signs and hung them in his garage. Even with sunlight shining through the window, there is still enough light to tell the sign is on. We are very happy with it. I don't think I would want them for a kids night light as they would be too bright but if you have a low watt bulb behind some sort of cover such as updating old signs they are absolutely perfect!
