Review on ๐Ÿพ Pet Grooming Gloves: Gentle Hair Remover & Shedding Brush for Dogs & Cats with Long or Short Fur - Slicker Mitt Comb for Bathing, Deshedding, Petting & Massage - Pet Supplies with Bonus Massage Roller for Dogs & Cats by Melissa Barnes

My two haired husky German shepherd loves them!

Mom loves them too! These skinning gloves are super: I am very satisfied and I recommend them! She loves. I love giving them a good stroke, but too long after a bath I don't like the oil/dandruff/white film that remains on my fingertips (I tend to stroke them less and less as it gets pretty gross, IMO). . That's the main reason I buy them. Yes, you need to brush your hair often. I rub them down on the outside to minimize the hair on the inside (and hope the birds use the hair for nests lol). Yes they push the hair and yes I try to shave as much as possible before she goes in. Yes, in dry weather they become static and annoying. Yes, I would rate them as "aggressive" in terms of ridges/teeth (?) - I don't recommend them for cats or dogs that don't like a good scratch. By the way, I can't imagine ever using them on our cats because I can absolutely imagine the static and major mess they will cause when the fur comes out. I have a cat that would love to scratch, but cats don't have a problem with greasy scales, which irritates me, and I love scratching her the way she likes (no gloves needed). Trying to remember/comment on specific complaints I've seen in 1 star reviews. And also to show that I'm real and not fake testimonials (which should be stopped!). I don't own a horse, but I can imagine the potential benefits of my previous experience with horses (easier than a curry comb, but I'm wondering how they hold up because horses are much larger than dogs and mud-stained *can* cause them max stress - I don't know). One thing is for sure: these gloves are better for your feet than a curry comb! I don't know durability yet. If they fall apart soon I will update this review. But so far so good! Conclusions: If you have a dog that loves to scratch hard and you don't want your fingers to get rough, great. If you have a double-coated dog and are constantly sweeping your hair because of it, these gloves will help a lot! These gloves do not replace the awesomeness of a professional bath + "Furminator" treatment; Rather, they reduce the frequency of need (if you're like me and prefer groomers to bathe and/or deal with seasonal hair loss). Hope that helps!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
