At first I was concerned about the exposed screws and clips holding the "scratch" bit together, but after a few days the cats are loving it. My big cat loves it more than my little one, even if he falls out of the hammock a bit! The base isn't very strong because it's not just a single piece (two halves) and if the crampons are too rough they can definitely knock it over. There are other hammocks here that are larger, much sturdier and all the same price, but this one, being a cactus, will add a cute touch to any room - from afar! If you look too closely, you'll see that the different parts are colored very differently, but they look exactly like they do in the ad. If I had seen it in store before I bought it I wouldn't have bought it but I'm not disappointed enough to return it as nothing is there. not correct. As long as the cats like it, I'm happy.
