Or, for example, play video games at 30 fps when your computer can easily handle 60 fps. To be honest I think I'll just go back to onboard audio for a while. I don't like the hiss, but it's not very loud, and I'd rather have some hiss when nothing is playing than have all my audio play at low quality.
