This is perhaps the most informative review of Ruizu X02, 8GB of internal memory. I'm giving it stars based on how it compares to other players at this price that do the job. Maybe I'll give 4 instead of 5 for you to read this as so many 5 star reviews seem so pointless and wrong. And I haven't had it long enough to claim honest longevity. (I skip the extremes and only read 2, 3, or 4 star reviews as they tend to be more informative. I use 4 although my cons below are really minor.) I don't understand reviews and questions from people who want a device that simpler and cheaper than your phone, and then wonder why a player at that price doesn't do the same thing as your phone or an old iPod that gave up the ghost a few years later. It's not a phone. It's not an iPod. It does the job. If I take a few and each lasts 12 months, together they last longer than the iPod and cost a lot less. I need a small, simple device to play through my headphones while I exercise, lay down, or ride my two or four wheeler. Means of transport. I want an inexpensive player so I don't risk losing or damaging a more valuable device like my phone. And it does the job. No matter how good the headphones are, I'll hang the cord on the chair or the cat will grab it, rip the wires, and demand another pair. Other pairs are easy to find, they are inexpensive, and expensive ones are short-lived. For now the ones that come with the X02 are fine. They do their job. I listen to podcasts and sometimes select music. Connect the Ruizu X02 cable and transfer the MP3 files from the computer to the files on the player, then turn it on and play the files. It does the job. I don't have a myriad collection of music files playing more hours than I'm likely to play in a lifetime that I want to shove into an MP3 player at the same time to be played in obfuscated lists or encrypted, which I never know what's being played . I play what I want and when my preferences change I delete old files and add new ones. It works for me. I wouldn't use X02 for videos, pictures or even e-books. If the screen was the same size as the entire front of the device, I'd have to use a magnifying glass to see details or get more than a few words on the screen. The screen is a good size for seeing what's playing or what files you're opening, so it does the work for that. Apparently there are different versions of Ruizu players with the same model numbers and I've seen different sellers with slight variations, all of which point to the players being made by them. And yet the same brands and model numbers have subtle differences. This can be seen in the reviews from verified buyers. Even sellers do not always know exactly how the buttons work on the most diverse phones, on which everyone writes Ruizu x02. If you don't want to spend a little time pressing and/or holding different key sequences to see what happens, you might as well give up. For example, to later restart the player from where you left off, you need to put it into sleep mode and not turn it off. Directions and other users say that you hold down the button in the center of the watch face to fall asleep. I do this and mine goes into "simple" mode. I like the simple mode when I use it, but simple isn't sleeping. I see this in the answers to questions about Revain. I asked online, the seller says to press and hold the middle button. It didn't help. i am experimenting I have experienced. Now I press and hold the volume button at the bottom of the outer watch face. When the volume slider shows up, I press and hold the middle button and it goes to sleep. In simple mode, I just press the top or bottom of the outer ring and the volume slider appears, then I press and hold the middle button. It took a while, but I finally found hibernation. And the player does its job. I listen to podcasts in the morning while working out, on the way to the office and on the way home, can later turn on the music while reading, and then download a new podcast collection before bed. For what I need, this does the job. And by having this item I am not doing things with my phone that could cause it to be damaged or lost. One thing the X02 lacks, which I would wish for in something this small, is a hole through the same edge as the headphone jack. , a clean hole exiting near the back. Many other players have a hole like this, and I would attach a drawstring tie to wear around my neck if my shirt doesn't have a pocket. And even if my shirt has a pocket, it won't fall out on the lanyard and rip the headphone connector in a way that kills the gamer. Well, that's fine. Not all MP3 players have it. When it gets important to me, I have super glue gel and a jump ring, a method I've used before. I'm currently using the Derringer concealed shoulder holster from the 1930's that my nephew played with when he wanted to pose as a secret agent. If you don't have one, a cheap nag bag or sunglass pouch around your neck will do. I will be uploading more podcasts tonight.
