7-8 months after purchase and daily use: Very nice bowls. They are very light - feels like they are hollow inside - so easy to hold. They HAVE a stain or varnish. I was a bit hesitant to put food in it at first. After putting small flower heads in it with water and seeing that the trays can hold it for a few days, I just agreed. After 7/8 months of daily use, hand wash only and occasional use of sharp silver, the top edges appear to be wearing off the polish and a very strong odor from the inner shell confirms the use of the polish. or stain. Maybe not the best for kids. Overall, these bowls are a beautiful tabletop item, and for light and/or non-edible uses, they're an inexpensive way to add a natural look to your home.
