Review on LG 27UP650 W DisplayHDR Borderless: Enhanced Viewing Experience with Adjustable Features, and Anti-Glare Coating by Sean Neal

I upgraded from HP 1080p 24" IPS monitors to 2 of these LG 27" 4k IPS monitors. They were reasonably priced for their features, well packaged and shipped quickly. I mounted both on a VESA dual monitor stand. Their VESA mounting holes are slightly recessed, requiring the mounting spacers that are usually included with the VESA mount. I connected them to my CyberPower PC gaming laptop via DisplayPort outputs. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE SCREEN DISPLAY AFTER CONNECTING TO YOUR COMPUTER, MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE MONITOR MENU TO SET THE INPUT TO THE DISPLAYPORT (INPUT MENU) AND A DISPLAYPORT VERSION SUITABLE FOR YOUR COMPUTER TO INSTALL. ), DisplayPort 1.2 or 1.4. They have a 60Hz refresh rate, so you only need a DisplayPort 1.2 cable. I calibrated the monitors with my Datacolor SpyderX Pro, which shows that these monitors cover 100% of the sRGB color space. The power button is located below the middle of the bottom frame and has an integrated LED. The power button also serves as a joystick for menu navigation. Being IPS monitors I don't see any glare from behind where my windows are and the viewing angles are great. The resolution is amazing and crystal clear. I experienced some screen stuttering when watching YouTube on one screen and opening the site's home page on another. I didn't have this problem with my 1080p monitors. To fix this, simply go into the settings of the web browser you are using, look for System and Performance or similar settings and disable "Hardware Acceleration". I use Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to edit my images and it looks great on these monitors with a lot more UI real estate. I have never tested the speakers on these monitors as I use my laptop to connect external Edifier speakers. Overall they are excellent and I recommend them for photo editing and general viewing.
