Good idea, but a few things to note: The part that comes with the phone (if that's what you're charging) might interfere with the case you might have. If you try to remove it every time, the connection tends to "wear out" pretty quickly and you could lose that little magnetic element. Without them, the cable is useless. I often get the "Checking connection" message when using this cable to charge my phone. It rarely connects well enough for fast charging. If you need to remove the magnetic part, it can be difficult to remove. (I think it might be good. At least it won't fall out!)
