Well if you don't mind radio interference

Bought these to replace the halogen bulbs in my kitchen cupboards. Opened the package and installed two of these, they worked great, the light was warm, just what I was looking for. However, I later tried to open the garage door with the remote control and it didn't work. This caused confusion and pointless troubleshooting for a while as I thought there was a problem with the garage door opening mechanism, but it turned out that the light was causing RF interference which was interfering with the remote control. This is a known problem with LED bulbs, some have shielding that reduces or prevents the problem - they don't seem to have this shielding (search "LED RF Interference" to find lots of info online) . I removed them and installed other (more expensive) LEDs and the problem was solved. In any case, if RF interference isn't an issue for you then they will probably suffice, otherwise I'd go for the more expensive bulbs. Note that this can also happen with things other than garage door openers - RF can interfere with TV and radio reception, TV remotes (like Logitech generics), video game controllers, etc. I can't say anything about durability as they were there <1 day.

Pros
  • Reduce the cost and hassle of replacing bulbs
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
