Review on πŸ‘” Mission Belt Men's Ratchet Buckle: The Ultimate Must-Have Accessory for Men's Belts by Chris Burns

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not 1 1/2 inches wide as advertised: mine is 1 3/8 inches. In general, everything is fine due to the design of the buckle.

I discovered ratchet straps in February (of 18) and bought about 10 from different manufacturers. I didn't want to buy the Mission belt because they are more expensive and I prefer the open buckle look. However, I was dying to try the canvas style and they were about my size. I prefer a 35mm (1 3/8") wide belt. On their own website and here at Revain they say they are 1 1/2". Not so. I have 1 3/8 inches. So I lucked out and got the width I wanted, but that's false advertising. The belt itself looks very sharp. It almost doesn't look like a tarpaulin because the weave is so fine and dense. , midnight blue, looks like dark blue denim. However, compared to my blue jeans, it's more of a grey-blue. Definitely not dark blue. It has light shades of white in the fabric, like denim. It is fabric on both sides and sewn well to look and not too bulky like other wider belts. It's a nice belt, but it doesn't go very well with my blue jeans. The color is not from the same family and looks weird to me. navy pants and shorts and I think they would look good with lighter colored pants too. I have a blue leather 1 1/2 inch ratchet belt and a pair of 1/3/8 inch leather belts. These models with strong buckles can be heavy, and combined with a thick leather belt, it can weigh you down. h feeling of lightness, but the buckle is strong and heavy. It makes a very loud clinking noise when it hits the floor while you're sitting on the dresser :) However, I have a few complaints about the mission. Unlocking their buckle is a little lever on the side and at least my buckle is very tight and a little difficult to unbuckle. It just doesn't have the smooth and easy release that it should. Maybe it will loosen up over time, but I think it's bad design. Every other ratchet strap I own opens smoothly and easily. The open buckle design is the best in my opinion. They make the whole buckle much simpler, look like "regular" belts and the release mechanism is much simpler and more natural. Alternatively, you can also hang them on an existing belt clip. So, mission, buckle up! Overall I'm quite happy with this particular color but after weighing the pros and cons and given that it's actually a 35mm wide belt I might buy another black one. I'd like to see how this plays out in a month or two before making that decision. The buckle bothers me.
