I like this vest. It's priced right and is very well made for what it is. After scraping a bunch of skin off my elbow 2 weeks ago sliding down the sidewalk (thankfully at less than 10 mph) I decided this was *worth* wearing! :) Now I feel much better riding my board at 40km/h than before. Road Rash sucks. Wear a good helmet, leather gloves and that vest and you'll be much better off! It's very easy. He is breathing. I ran it at 103 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes the other day and everything was fine. Sure, it was hotter than a plain t-shirt, but barely hotter than a flimsy, long-sleeved shirt. It's worth it for the extra protection though. It's also very light. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a thin carrying case (you know, like those cheap disposable drawstring bags) to protect it when I'm lugging it around San Francisco, since that's where I use it to get there and get back. but sometimes you just have to carry my gear when I'm not driving. Otherwise, it's very easy to scratch it or accidentally get tiny cracks if a piece of it accidentally gets stuck on a bumpy road or on the tape on the top of the skateboard under your backpack. TO SELLER: Please add a thin shoulder strap for a backpack for him. Thanks very much! SIZING NOTES: Note: I'm 5ft 9in, 155lbs, athletic build and medium height fits perfectly! I think the large size would definitely be too big. In summer I wear it over a short-sleeved shirt. - It warms a little on its own in the fall, but I can easily wear it over a long-sleeved shirt. - In late fall, I can wear a vest over a t-shirt and a light jacket *over a vest* - In winter, I can wear a thick coat *over a vest*. BACKPACK: It goes very well with a backpack! vest and it is very comfortable to wear, so no problem. EASY TO USE: Very quick to put on and take off - harder to put on than a hoodie or jacket but not by much (takes maybe 2 times longer). I can put it on or take it off in just a few seconds - probably 10 or 20 seconds. I'll see if I can somehow post pics of me and my board in this vest. Photos are always nice to look at.
