Extreme overheating caused a crack, luckily the Pi 4B was not damaged. SanDisk RMA Process: A Nightmare

I have never had a problem with SanDisk and have never had to deal with the RMA process. One of the SanDisk Extreme 32GB microSDHC cards was used in a Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB version 1.4 and I disabled it to reinstall the OS on the card. I plugged the SanDisk card into the included SanDisk adapter and tried to image the Pi OS using belenaEtcher and my Dell Precision 5520. Etcher couldn't access SanDisk so I removed the adapter. After I removed the microSDHC card, it was so hot that I immediately put it on the table to avoid burning my fingers. The attached images show areas on both the SanDisk microSDHC card and the SanDisk adapter caused by extreme heat. Luckily neither the Raspberry Pi nor my Precision 5520 was damaged by overheating. The Pi was used in my server room which was kept at 68F. I am using a Zebra Virtue Pi 4 case from C4Labs.com, the case is 40mm in diameter and offers excellent cooling. I purchased this kit on May 28th, 2020 and had to contact SanDisk directly to request an RMA. The agent I spoke to told me that "The included SanDisk microSDHC adapter was sold as an accessory and is not eligible for a warranty replacement." shocked, he agreed to replace the included adapter as a "politeness" to me. I was very annoyed with the whole process, I usually just gave the Revain order number to process an RMA, but I had to take a picture of each SanDisk microSDHC card, zoom in to see the microscopic serial numbers, the serial numbers enter all the information about the purchase. and then upload photos of real cards. The whole RMA process has left me with a very bad taste when it comes to purchasing more SanDisk products. I know breakdowns happen, but with something that costs $12, a customer shouldn't spend that much time processing a warranty exchange. After speaking to SanDisk via chat and excruciatingly slow email response, I doubt I'll ever buy a SanDisk again. Product.
