Made of high quality plastic. I'm confident in its durability even though it's not as thick as the original. I bought this to replace a hail damaged original cover on my 2002 Starcraft popup. It fits in well with a few issues: as mentioned, there are no holes on the back, but 30 seconds of drilling fixed that. I had misaligned one of the two front screw holes. A quick new hole in the device's gray base solved that problem too, so no big deal. The only real issue I had was that the mostly closed back curved inward and actually touched the fins, not to mention how it reduced airflow. So my solution was to cut out this whole section to reopen it like the original. It took about 5 minutes with a power tool to cut it out and sand down the sharp edges. It looks great now and I'm sure it will last for many years. If you don't have the money or desire to modify it a bit you'll get frustrated and give it a star or two. However, the extra time is well worth it, especially given what is/isn't available on the market for this air conditioner.
