I am allergic to down and have used cotton duvets or quilts in the past. It's not like them at all, there is a sense of luxury compared to them! The first thing I noticed was the silky feel when I opened it. It has a pleasant snow-white color and is really crumpled from the packaging. I ran it through the washer and dryer on very low heat (no heat actually) and it worked pretty well. I'm really impressed with how silky it feels and need to remind my husband to sleep between the sheets and not just under the covers (he loves soft things). After washing it got rid of all the wrinkles and looks very nice on our bed. My room is dark blue so I wanted a crisp white duvet. I have kids and dogs and as long as the blanket stays white I don't know how long it will last. I'm very glad it worked so well in the washer and dryer. As the company mentions, bamboo can shrink, but it's perfect for a bed, so that's not a problem.
