My son will be 1 year old in a month and is a little taller than a normal baby. I order it 12-18 months due to this fact and the shirt fits perfectly. I wouldn't say you need to go up in size because it's just larger than average so it really does true to size. Great quality, came with a Children's Place tag marked $14.95. You can't win with a 50% discount! We tried it on with a pair of suspender shorts that we ordered for our son from Bailey's Blossoms for our wedding in late August and oh my god it's adorable! Definitely satisfied with the product! PS The color is white and I was nervous because the groomsmen wear ivory, but it will work fine because as long as it's white, it's not bright, with a bluish tinge of white. This is a beautiful white linen top. Very beautiful.
