Update: The acrylic pane seems to be a great workaround. The Velcro adheres well to the board and the disc is removable. I was very excited that they will be released for use in a kayak and paddleboard. (I wasted too many adult drinks thinking I could make up for it.) I've seen comments about the surface having to be smooth and I thought my kayak and paddleboard were smooth enough. Reviews don't lie! The surface must have no texture at all! However, toadfish do well on smooth surfaces. However, all is not lost! A very smart colleague just recommended using acrylic discs and sticky velcro. I just ordered some. I'm going to "install" removable 4" rims on the kayak and kayak and see if that works! I will try to remember to update my review.
