I bought this 02 sensor for my Toyota Tacoma 08 when last week the check engine light came on and the scan tool confirmed the sensor heater had failed. This is usually prelude to a total sensor failure, and the simple loss of heater function will cause your car to run erratically. This is the upper or main sensor that tells the engine computer how to adjust the air/fuel mixture for optimal performance. This sensor's connector fits most Toyota vehicles, so there's no need to cut the connector or wires (denso calls it a first fit, and for good reason). It wasn't difficult to get the job done, but I did need a jack, a work station, and a few basic hand tools (due to space constraints on 4-barrel Tacomas, you'll need a standard 22mm wrench). There's also no room for any of those sensor ports. To access the connectors on the 2.7 you need to pull on these tabs on the rubber plate behind the right side wheel. You'll need a screwdriver to get under the cork mount and you'll need to pull hard. Once the sensor is off, just twist it to the left and pull it out (it gets stiff as it gets older), throw it out and get a new part. When you are ready to install the new sensor, use the included high temperature copper-based anti-seize compound and fill the threads of the new sensor, cranking it by hand and to the hilt (avoid letting the anti -Seize agent got on the sensor head. Once it's tightened, start cleaning your lamp MIL (3 key cycles will erase it). Drive knowing you've fixed it
