I bought this for my husband because he was having trouble with an itchy beard. He needed a little time to get right. The bib consists of two laces tied together with a slipknot. The knot can be removed at will and tied with threads. One tightens the top part of the bib and the other tightens the bottom part of the bib. I think they make it flexible enough to fit most people. He decided to remove the slipknot and tie the ends of the strings the way he wanted for maximum comfort on the ears. The great thing is that once he adjusted it to his size, he only had to adjust it once. Before bed, he applies oil to his beard, especially around the chin area where it dries, and then puts a headscarf over it. He no longer stains our pillowcases and he said he notices a lot less irritation because his beard doesn't dry out at night. The beard stays with the beard!
