We had an old Panasonic model that was outdated. It could only block 30 calls, and with all the automated calls we receive almost every day, we needed to be able to block more calls. This phone is good for its ability to block a lot of calls, but that's all we need. CONS: 1) The battery is very short-lived and only takes about 20% of our old phone. We keep getting the low battery warning and need to charge. Our old Panasonic phone easily lasted a week on a single charge, but it won't last a day with this phone. 2) The speakerphone is useless. It's very difficult to understand people and the caller can barely hear us over the speakerphone despite the fact that the volume is set to maximum. We never had this problem with the old Panasonic model. If these features are important to you, I wouldn't buy this phone. In this case, newer is NOT better!
