Noir alternative to the Airpods

I bought these headphones as an alternative to my Jabra 65 and 75t so my review will be more of a comparison of two styles (in-ear vs. in-ear). I was a bit skeptical at first due to the very mixed reviews, but then decided to take a chance and try Twigs. The delivery was super fast. Not sure if this is related to the seller or Revain but I received them in less than 24 hours of ordering. The packaging was simple but of good quality. If you didn't know better, you'd think it came from a locked case at Best Buy (or a similar store). Comes with case, headphones and a short USB-C cable. The case is tidy. When closed it seems solid. The "upper part" is a solid metal disc. I call it the top because that's the side that should face away from the wireless charging pad (if you go that route). The rest of the body is made of black plastic. Another review said the case was a fingerprint magnet and I have to agree, although the metal top does NOT get dirty at all and looks very clean - it's only on the plastic bottom. However, it doesn't really matter to me. The body plastic isn't shiny or anything, so it's just adding a few blemishes. My Jabra case looks like it's made of the same material and has the same issue. For size comparison, the Oddict case is about β…“ larger than my Jabra 75T case. Honestly, the only thing I don't like about the case is the flip cover. When closed it is held in place by a magnetic clasp, which seems normal (my 75T has this) but when open it seems very fragile. The headphones themselves are very comfortable for me. I'm used to Jabra headphones that kind of screw into your ear, but the Twigs just sit right in there. Very comfortable and safe. I didn't go jogging, but they did endure some vigorous weight training sessions. The pairing process was easy. Once charged (my case arrived uncharged) I simply popped them in and let my Pixel scan for BT devices. He found her in about 15 seconds. Once connected, I installed the Oddict app from the Play Store. I had to sign up for an account (which is a bit annoying) to use the app's features. The application itself is a kind of "fur". You'll need it to update the firmware on your headphones, and the lost headphone ringing feature is handy, but the sound profiles aren't great. Instead of the default EQ, you get a radar-style circular UI that lets you adjust between warm, cool, hard, and soft (tones?). I just moved the circle to the "hard" side and left it there. There are several presets, but they only seem to move the slider directly to one of the 4 sound options. In general the music was clean and strong. The bass was decent and the highs didn't sound tinny. However, I didn't find the bass particularly punchy, no matter how I tweaked the EQ. When music was playing I didn't have any weird bass distortions or weird noises, but when the headphones were on and no music was playing I could hear a little Bluetooth "buzzing". It wasn't loud enough to drown out the music or prevent me from hearing anything, but I could definitely hear it. Conclusion: I'm quite happy with these headphones, but the product definitely needs some work. I like the overall style, fit and feel. Wireless charging is a big plus as I'm trying to reduce cables on my desktop. The app is a little anemic and they should replace the equalizer UI with the correct one, but the good thing about the software is that it can be updated later! For me, the 3 hours of running time and sound quality put them in the "everyday” category.
