Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Lenspen Sensorklear II with Articulated Tip (Model LENSK1A)" by Tone Hatton

Excellent: does the job right; inexpensive, efficient and fast.

The product works very well. My D800's sensor looked like it had measles. There were a lot of dust particles and some dirt from the previous cleaning which didn't remove everything. First you need to blow the dust out of the chamber with a Giottos blower or similar. Then lift the sensor, put on the Lenspen and wipe the surface of the sensor with a swab; Then take a reference photo at F16 or F22 so any remaining particles on the sensor are visible. Go back, look at the photo and if necessary, flush the chamber and sensor. Finally, clean the sensor again with the Lenspen and then vent the chamber again. You should not be afraid that the pen/brush will damage the sensor. Repeat until the sensor is clean. This may take 3-4 times if your sensor is very coarse. You just don't have to press the pen/brush too hard. It's very responsive and you can easily tell when you've "landed" on the sensor, making it nearly impossible to press too hard. You don't have to think you have to be a Rembrandt to clean your sensor. Lenspen makes it easy. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to clean the sensor, but now it's shiny and I could see myself using it with a blower after a hotel room photo shoot. After doing this a few times, you'll realize that the fear of cleaning the sensor was unrealistic. With this device you can get your work done quickly and easily. You should also set up sensor cleaning on your camera to automatically clean the sensor on startup and shutdown. I mentioned that for $10 you're not going to splurge on exotic swirl brushes and "secret potions" from Canada. . You know who you are {Ahem: dashing through the arctic.}. Photographers can afford to get their job done right, fast and easy! Good job Lenspen!

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance

Works great as part of kit but not alone.
