They're good for washing bottles, but where they really shine are caps with internal channels. I had weird coffee flakes coming out of my coffee pot. I took the lid, put it in the tupperware with one of those pills, put the lid on the container with the little hole and let it sit for 30 minutes. I shook the container regularly so that the liquid got into all the cracks. So many small flakes of dried coffee came out that it was disgusting. After rinsing, the lid did not smell of detergent. It still smells like coffee, but I was fine with that. There are no flakes in my coffee yet.
