Review on 🎧 Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H4 Wireless Headphones - Charcoal Grey: Premium Sound and Style - 1643874 by Nick Ross

I was looking for headphones primarily because I wanted to wear them for hours and secondly because they sounded really good. (I'm a musician, so sound is important.) These H4s are the best I've found for under $300. I checked the following: B&O H8JBL E65BTNCBose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) Sony MDR1000X/BSony XB950N1. I've also tried some cheaper headphones like the Avantree. 40 and Symphony headphones. They were just that - cheap - mediocre materials and average sound. In the same class are the AUSDOM headphones which I already had and which were uncomfortable even after wearing them for hours (the reason for the search). Unfortunately, these cheap headphones get high marks on Revain because most people just look for cheap headphones. it sounds normal. This complicates the task for those of us who really care about sound. The nearly identical B&O H8s just didn't sound as good as the H4s, which is okay since the H8s cost $100 more. The Bose phones were the most comfortable of all the phones I've tried. They are light and sit well on the ears. However, believe it or not, the H4s sound a little better. I was surprised. Luckily, I was able to plug my own tunes into both for an apple-to-apple comparison. The H4's best performance suited me as I was able to buy the H4 for $100 less than the Bose phones. :) The JBLs sounded great and were quite comfortable. Although they appear to be solid, according to numerous Revain reviews, they appear to have a circuit failure. The Sony MDR1000X/B phones sounded good. In fact, I saw an article recently that said they've surpassed Bose phones as the best ANC phones available. However, I didn't get them because a) they weren't as comfortable as the H4 and b) they didn't sound as good as the H4 (or Bose). Sony XB950N1 phones were among the most comfortable. (lightweight and does not put pressure on the head). They also have good bass as advertised. However, the sound was a bit muddy than the H4. In terms of price/performance, if I hadn't bought the H4, I would have taken this one. As other reviews point out, the H4 doesn't have active noise cancellation. However, they block more sound than most headphones I've had. The H4s were the third most convenient phones I looked at (Bose was #1 and the XB950N1 was #2). The H4's sound quality was the best of any phone. I watched (Bose was number 2.) The H4's construction is the best phone I've looked at - very solid. In fact, it's too heavy for some people's tastes, but it works for me. There's definitely bass in the H4. You just need to make sure you can tune the sound on whatever player you're using, as the H4 isn't as bass-heavy by default as some might prefer. Note that price was secondary to me. Revain has some great deals on phones that have been refurbished or have had a little use. I could practically buy new H4s for about $80 less than new ones.
