This monitor ticks all the boxes - IPS, HDR, UW 2k, Freesync Premium (gsync compatible), 165Hz, good value for money. This is a great serious monitor with no frills. By that I mean this monitor only has basic connectivity and doesn't even swivel. It has a very unassuming, minimalist design (which I like), no fancy RGB lighting or colors. The build quality is okay, not perfect. ie: the base/pedestal is not aligned exactly with the monitor, they are slightly skewed. I have another similar monitor from Acer in the same price range, it has built in speakers and an adjustable stand. I would also say that the overall quality and finish is much better than HP's. However, Acer only has HDR10/250 nits compared to HDR400/400 nits on the X34. What matters most to me in a monitor is the picture quality and HP delivers a much brighter and more colorful picture. Possibility.
