I bought these because my blonde wife thinks silk and satin pillowcases reduce hair rubbing during sleep. She also believes that less friction from moving around while you sleep means less damage to the hair cuticle, which means less frizz and frizz. I personally have dry and calloused "man hands" so I avoid materials like silk and satin because my fingers are so rough they stick to the material. So as they were ordered for my wife, after a few nights of sleeping in them, she has this to say: They wash and dry easily. I tossed them in a laundry bag and into the washing machine so they wouldn't get caught on anything else in the underwear that might have a zipper or something. There was no noticeable discoloration and no shrinkage or curling. I tumble dried them on constant pressure, still in the bag, along with my regular laundry load. They came out soft and wrinkle free. They feel very smooth and silky and the navy blue has a satin sheen and looks great. I was going to order a standard but I ordered a queen so they are a bit big. The "envelope" inside the open end is to prevent the pillow from slipping out and basically the end of the pillow is contained within. I assume it would work fine if I order the right size. Sleeping on them is great. Very smooth and silky on my skin, no negative reactions to the material. I love her. But on the third night we noticed that the stitching had come undone. We turned the pillowcase inside out and it turned out that they were just slightly off at that point. Based on other rave reviews I think this was an anomaly. I contacted the seller, sent him pictures and he immediately sent me a replacement. Benefits - + Low cost. + Easy to wash, no hand washing or drying required. + Vegan. (Personally, we're not vegan, but I know this is important to some.) + Excellent customer service. Cons -- Part of the seam wasn't sewn properly and fell apart after a few days. Hope that helps.
