I have used the Griddler several times in the few months that I have had it. It does an excellent job of heating and heating evenly. I've only had two problems so far. When cooking chicken breasts, the top platen will come off as it should so that the platen is level with the breast. However, once you lift the top plate, it doesn't snap back onto the hinge, resulting in grease or drips not getting into the grease drip tray on the back of the unit. To fix it you have to press on the heating plate. And obviously very hot. It would be nice if there was a separate handle on the top plate that stays cool and is used as a lever to lock the strap. The other really nice feature is that the plates are angled really well to allow the fat to flow to the fat. Tray. It's great until the first time I tried frying eggs in a pan on a plate. About two seconds after the egg cracks, it slides over the pan and into the drip pan. I have yet to look through the manual to see if I can see a way to avoid this. I think the same will happen with pancake batter, but I haven't done that yet. I know I'm doing something wrong because nobody can design a pan that can't be used for breakfast.
