I moved to the country and needed to turn Gus the city cat into a house cat or he would become a coyote snack. Gus went insane with frustration and also got MUCH more than chubby as he couldn't find a kitten in the house to do. He kept me up at night while he trashed the house. The climbing system (with extra plastic toys to throw on the ground) gave him hope that he would have fun and possibly lose weight. I put him between the bookshelves he likes to sit on. At first he refused to recognize the addition. Kitten treats lined up along the steps helped Gus become familiar with the racks, though it took away more of a purpose from the climbing system. Now he keeps me up at night, banging his 30 pounds against the wall, attacking plastic sharks and spring toys. So yes, the system works, but beware of secondary results. Sigh. At least HE is happier.
