Review on High Power Tri-Power Portable Baofeng UV-5R Two Way Radio for Ham Radio Enthusiasts by Van Chay ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, best quality.

Even though I've never come across walkie-talkies, my experiences cycling through areas with spotty cell service have prompted me to consider them. They only needed 10 minutes to fix the walkie-talkie. The primary focus was on examining the unlicensed broadcasting frequencies, which, as expected, proved to be congested with talks between builders from local construction sites, but from which gaps might be uncovered. A great way to familiarize yourself with the walkie-talkies. I considered Xiaomi walkie-talkies, but ultimately decided for 5R because it was both cheaper and had a better connection, despite the former's superior build quality and charging convenience.

Pros
  • A high-quality two-way radio for the purpose of becoming familiar with the concept. It's cheap, has a lot of volume and volume options, and is widely used enough that you can find guides to just about anything online. Changing the antenna is an option if you want to use it beyond 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) from a heavily crowded location, where communication is maintained peacefully.
Cons
  • The included headset is bulky and has a strange design that takes some getting used to. For charging purposes, you will need to provide your own power source.
