The strap has a subtle silicone feel and fits snugly on the wrist. A few things to keep in mind. This band is much harder than the original Garmin band. I think this is partly due to the small size of the "lever" to release the latch and partly to another issue. Because the strip is thicker than the original at the joint, it will not lie/stretch completely flat. The picture shows the belt opening as wide as it can go before being stopped by the thickness. The black strap is genuine Garmin and as you can see it can be fully opened and lays perfectly flat. The Ancool is also completely open, but cannot be opened flush with the watch and therefore cannot be laid completely flat. much cheaper than Garmin straps. You have to see how durable it is in use.
