Stable with an ice pick, make sure pants are tucked in or wear tall socks

To keep the boot stable. It doesn't go through the sole, but metal (yes, it's a metal ice ax) won't hit the ground unless you seriously wear down the soles of the boot themselves. Which, frankly, would be impressive if you did. The only complaint is that the upper doesn't pull well and is just tight enough, but not firm enough (if that makes sense) to rub against the skin and irritate or even damage the skin of the foot where the upper is chafed. So make sure your pants are tucked in, or at least wear high socks. Apart from this small complaint I have no problem with them and will try to buy another pair in winter if they are still available for my child as the ice is healing. great idea. Of course, I live in a cold state in the US and I've slipped on the ice far too many times. Anything that prevents me or my family from quickly (and accidentally) landing on the ground is good for me.

Pros
  • Rubber sole
Cons
  • wrinkled
