Came with a slight chemical smell but definitely a lot less than other new water bottles. I think a little chemical smell is inevitable so it's not a big deal. I couldn't understand the straw, I couldn't close the bottle cap with the straw, so I don't use it. Also, the white cap on the straw is separate from the straw itself. So if you don't attach them very tightly, you'll end up with a mixture of water and air bubbles. Really big, more than a gallon of milk (pictured) but that's to be expected. The strap is strong when a full bottle is very heavy, but the strap can bear the weight. Easy to clean. Mine didn't leak, but I wouldn't say it's definitely airtight because it's impossible. In general I am very happy with it, since I bought it I have been drinking more water recently. People always comment on how big it is.
