I received this to use my phone as a dashcam. But I forgot that the mirror was aimed at my face, so this plan failed. However, this place is great for navigating or blogging. This also works if you want to set up your cell phone to record your drive (like a rear view camera). The most important factor to consider is the vertical height of the windshield. This is the vertical distance you need to be able to see the road while driving. The distance between the top of my dashboard and the bottom of my rearview mirror was only a few inches longer than the length of this product, making it difficult to see the road around some corners as my phone blocked my view. On the other hand, this wouldn't be a problem if you're using it in a tractor-trailer, moving truck, or any other vehicle with a huge windshield. Basically hang a piece of paper (about 12 inches long and 6 inches wide) on your mirror because this product will block it when in use. Eventually I returned mine because not only did it not work as planned, but mine also broke due to the product being placed in a paper box with no packaging to protect it from damage; and Revane just wrapped the box in bubble wrap to mail it to me. The package was damaged upon delivery. Although the plastic may be fragile, the design and functionality are top notch. I would buy another one if I needed the one described above.
