Review on Cascade Mountain Tech Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles - Adjustable Locks for Walking, Hiking, or Trekking by Chris Hazzard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best trekking poles for the price. Period. Better than $100+ branded sticks.

These poles are incredibly handy. I'm an avid hiker on the Appalachian Trail and a camper. I've ridden over 500 miles with these poles so far and they work great. You get everything you are looking for in quality sticks at a very affordable price. These poles have all the features you would expect from a trekking pole: carbon fiber shaft, flip locks, cork grips, extended foam grips, and several different tip attachments - all just under 7.75 ounces each. Brand these sticks Black Diamond or Leki and they easily sell for as little as $120. With this product you get a very high-quality processed product without brand surcharge. I am 6ft 4" and my boyfriend is 4ft 11" and we both have the same pair. They are ideal for people of all sizes due to their adjustability. There are a few things to consider when looking for a good set of trekking poles.1. Carbon fiber shafts. Carbon fiber is much lighter and stronger than aluminum. Definitely a must have for anyone looking for lightweight but strong poles.2. cork handles. Cork is much stronger than foam. It holds up better over time and doesn't get slippery when wet. insertion fee. Worth every penny.3. Toggle locks. Don't chase twistlocks. They are not that strong and break easily. The flip lock mechanism is standard on all quality poles and is the way to go if you want poles to last. These sticks have all of these qualities and more. I also heard that this company has great customer service if you have any problems. I haven't had any issues with the product, but it's good to know "just in case"!
