The lining is properly sewn on so you can take full advantage of the size of the bag. Both the smaller straps and the long strap are adjustable (the long strap hides in the center zipped compartment when shipped). two things that make it even more perfect. In what I have (black), the lining is black. Light lining would make it even better. It's easier to find things in it. And the two small patch pockets on the same wall are very flat. You can wear lipstick or business cards, but you can't carry your phone in it (or if you can, you can't close the pocket.) You can put your phone in the zippered pocket on the other side, or in the outside pocket I got one Viewed a million bags on Inta voila - so glad I have this one.
