Broke after 2 washes!

I really wanted to like this seat. It was great and served its purpose but kids are dirty and things like that need washing from time to time. Bought January 1st, now May 4th. There is a huge hole on the side after two washes. I sewed it up, but I'm a little disappointed. I assume it's not for washing? Otherwise he does his job well.
