Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well rounded IEM

This is not a professional version. This is a good, well rounded IEM. I give 4.5 stars. The rating is based on 4 days of intensive listening. It's lightweight and with the right tip size doesn't cause any comfort issues. It tends to be a bit on the light side. The sound tube and bass peaks dampen it to a good level. It offers a crisp and clear sound across all genres. Vocals and high frequencies are very good. The bass benefits from the boost. I use it with a portable amp (Fiio A5) with Bass Boost turned on and it improves bass clarity and power. I still find that the FH3 has clearer, nicer bass. I was hoping they could reproduce this in FD3. Compared to the FH3, the FH3 were larger and more comfortable in the ears. However, both are extremely comfortable. The FH3 also appeared to be of higher quality, perhaps because of its design. The quality of the FD3 is very good, but the FH3 felt a little better. The FH3 has tighter, cleaner bass, but the mids and highs were too thin for my gear. There's also a certain weirdness in the high frequencies of some tracks, especially the acoustic ones. FD3 has none of these problems. The FD3 has rich mids and highs, a little less detailed but still very good. With 2 different sound tubes and different attachments, you can customize the sound the way you prefer or the genre you listen to and it makes a difference. The main cable is ok. I heard that a professional cable can make the sound brighter. I don't know how true that is. I wanted mine to be warmer because the DAC I use tends to be brighter. I sent the FH3 back about a month ago because I didn't like the vocals and highs. I keep FD3 to myself.
