This puzzle play mat IS perfect for young children to play on .The interlocking pieces make it easy to set up and the mat provides a cushioned surface for little ones to explore their toys and games. Through trial and error, I found that it's best to lay out the whole thing before clicking any pieces together. The only downside is that it can be a little tough to clean.
