Review on Wax Necessities Barbero Depilatory Steel by David Guerrero

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Odorless, very strong, doesn't leave a terrible mess like soft wax.

I am a total novice when it comes to waxing. I wouldn't call myself a waxing guy (if there is such a thing). I have a very strong aversion to body hair. It may have been useful to the cavemen, but in the 21st century this is a nuisance. That being said, I've always been a guy who shaves (if there is such a thing) and have decided I'm sick of the razor blades and thorns in my lower parts. I guess my rating might not mean that much as I can only compare it to Walmart's off the shelf products. It was a disaster! Microwave heating is a terrible method because all the back and forth and inability to regulate the temperature produces terrible results. The soft look was a mess and flaked like hell. Then I tried the stupid pre-waxed strips and they only worked on fine hair, not straight hair. I just received this product and also brought a heating pad, which is very important! It takes about half an hour to warm up properly but after that I had a breast wax in about 25 minutes with excellent results. A few remained, but they were removed with tweezers, and it was probably user error anyway. Pros: - Easy to clean (provided you use common sense and don't use it on carpets) - NO ODOR. I hate smelly products, including fragrances. That way you won't smell like bad potpourri or awful lavender. - Strong but make sure you have at least 1/4 inch. However, I noticed that he has several shorter ones. - Once you've heated it in the greenhouse, you can use as much as you need and then chill the rest in a metal can for later use. Just reheat and you're done. - A bit silly but looks cool, I know it's not really a "pro" but for some reason it reminds me of Terminator II. Cons: - It takes a while to heat up so plan your time accordingly . I think that goes for any hard wax. There aren't many wooden spatulas in the kit, so buy a few, they're not too expensive. work fine for that. Haven't tried it yet, but I probably will soon, but maybe my wife's help is needed. I can't think of any other cons at the moment, so I'll stop there. Overall, this is a fantastic product, not to mention the silly "Licensed Beautician Only" label. What a nonsense. license? OMG, we're not talking about medical devices. Just use your common sense and if you lack common sense, let your wife do it for you. She probably has more than you.

Pros
  • It will not only be useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Almost everything is available
