Hypoallergenic but not the best patch

I ordered this patch to protect my FreeStyle Libre CGM cartridge after using a few other standard sticky patches which caused severe irritation and tearing of the skin when removed . . I chose this product because it was advertised as hypoallergenic. That's true when it comes to application - irritation and skin cracks are no longer a problem. But the patches are not satisfactory, mainly because of the fact that they don't stick well, but also because of the uncomfortable design. The adhesive on these pads is non-irritating and much gentler on the skin than other patches. The red rashes and cracks in the skin caused by other blemishes have disappeared. However, the adhesive is so weak that the patches peel off quickly. Other patches may be valid for a full two weeks of monitor usage; This takes less than a week and the edges of the patch will begin to curl within a day or two. They can be worn in the shower, but that seems to speed them up. Your claim "10+ Days" is far from true. They are also a bit more expensive than other patches which wouldn't be too bad except I use 1.5-2x more over a 2 week period. Finally, the shape is strange. They have a three-component coating over the adhesive on the back of the patch: two stripes along the outside edge and one elongated one down the middle. If you remove all three, the entire back of the patch will be covered in adhesive. Most other patches designed for CGM have an adhesive free section in the middle to go over the monitor itself and not stick to it and possibly not pull out when you remove the patch. The instructions for them tell you to leave the paper backing in the center and stick the patch only on the edges if you don't want to stick it on the monitor. This means a shiny paper-like coating is left in the middle of the patch on the underside after you apply it to your skin. This is very cumbersome and doesn't really work. The patch itself is designed to work with both round FreeStyle monitors and oblong Dexcom monitors, doubling their market without making two different patches. This creates a triangular patch with an off-center central portion. The monitor disc is awkward to put on and center (I use FreeStyle round discs) and if you want to keep the center paper part of the circle on the oval it means you have to line it up exactly (for Dexcom) or leave that Paper sticking out uselessly from the two sides of a round disc (for FreeStyle) if you can even get it centered properly. In short, the design tries to fit two differently shaped monitors and it's not easy to use for either of them. When I have my first order ready for them (once they fall off so fast!), another solution. They deserve credit for being truly skin-friendly, but the design and application fall short.
