Not real leather, you get what you pay for
The dark brown color is fantastic, almost exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it looks cheap and plasticky up close. Water drips onto it instead of being absorbed, so you can tell it's not real leather. He's also pretty tough, as others have mentioned. I like it more than the black strap that came with my watch, it matches my clothes but it's not worth $40.
