Idle speed (and therefore noise) is much higher. The original fans can run completely silently at low speed intervals to keep the PC quiet when idling. They spin up very loudly and quickly during these intervals, making the computer noisy. I'll try some 0.40A fans I've found elsewhere and see how they compare. So far I have found a solution to an original fan that started to fail and makes less noise than this new fan. :/
