I bought this camera for a trip because I didn't want to lug around my Nikon DX DSLR but I was concerned about the image quality with a 4/3 lens so I took it out and did about 50 or more shots 60 photos with him and the same number of my Nikon before the trip. I was very impressed. To be honest, even looking at full-size images pixel by pixel on a computer, the differences are negligible. I have no problem recommending Olympus to anyone. I had no problem finding the controls without even looking at the manual and with a little practice I can do almost anything I can do with a Nikon with it. This camera is perfect for semi-professional shooting for fun. - it's MUCH lighter than a DSLR - and as much as I wish I liked Nikon more, while giving Nikon a 'but' list, I would heartily recommend this camera. The Olympus, for example, focuses MUCH faster than the Nikon, even in low light, and in full auto it "guesses" more accurately which part of the scene to focus on. Whether you're just starting out with photography or you want to get up off the observation deck and take pictures, you'll LOVE it. Other interesting info bits: It also has HD video and stereo sound. Before I bought this I didn't know about the "PenPal" accessory that Olympus makes for this that plugs into the camera for direct mobile download ALSO when plugged into your TV most TV remotes can used to control camera and TV !
