These are not your grandfather's underpants. They are warm, soft and can easily be worn as underwear. There is no need to tuck another pair of underwear under a long pair. I'm 5'10.5" tall with a 38" waist. They're a bit long, but the extra length, maybe a few inches, will gather at the bottom, but that's not a problem because I usually wear long socks over my underpants. The material is soft but seems to have enough texture to provide insulation. It would be great as an underlayer when exercising, it could be worn as pajamas or loungewear at home on a cold morning. It has a functional grain and a strong rubber band to go around. There are no seams on the underside of the saddle. So if you wear them while driving or riding a motorcycle, do not rub the saddle on the seat surface. Good foresight.
