Sufficient, but not silky smooth as expected.
This is not the soft, luxurious satin weave I was expecting. Now that it's sewn onto the comforter, I wish I hadn't tried to salvage a good American wool comforter and just bought a new one. Also, this two-inch binding is too narrow for a king-size quilt.
