Review on πŸ’ˆ Panasonic ARC5 Electric Cordless Razor for Men - Wet Dry Shaver with Pop-Up Trimmer, 16-D Flexible Pivoting Head, Intelligent Shaving Sensor - Black by Tommy Maynard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's time to debunk those one star reviews.

When I decided to buy a wet and dry electric razor (I've used Gillette blades in the past), I did a lot of research. The list included Wahl, Braun, Panasonic and others. I also used Consumer Reports. Given that I view all the reviews with healthy skepticism, I finally narrowed my choices down to Braun and this Panasonic. Brown and Panasonic. (Incidentally, both were highly rated by consumers.) As usual, the complaints were troubling, highly critical, and lacking in detail and/or photos. (Sometimes complaints are clear and detailed and include photos documenting problems. They are valuable and seriously influence my decision whether to buy them or not, so I always pay attention!) In this case for this product - IGNORE complaints. Maybe someone has a bad block, but I'm willing to bet most of them are either trolls or end-user stupidity. This razor shaves really well. Does it last longer than a safety razor? Really depends on how you look at it. If you only compare the shaving times, then you will need more time with an electric shaver. And yes, you will make more than one pass over some areas where your hair isn't all in the "one direction". But when you add the time it takes to shave by hand INCLUDING heating the water to soften the beard, applying your choice of shaving cream/gel and then shaving straight on. I would say electricity takes a little less time. And if you're like me, basically bald and you need to shave your head too. then the time saving is considerable. As for the cleanliness of the shave. I am 100% satisfied. Is it as close as my Gillette? It looks the same, and when I run my hand over the skin, it's smooth. The razor is quiet; The three settings (one setting allows the head to move in all directions, one constrains it from side to side, and the third extends the trim) are excellent. Cleaning? It's as simple as it gets - leave it running in the shower while it runs. If you want to be really thorough, remove the foil cap, rinse the head and cap in the shower. Do you want to be super clean? Put a drop of soap on the razor while you work, run your fingertip over the foil and it immediately foams. Then rinse etc and it will be super clean. The battery life is excellent. I have found that with daily use it lasts almost 2 weeks before I need to charge it. I also bought a charging/cleaning stand that works great and has a drying function that you can run when you're not doing a full cleaning cycle. But to be honest, if you just clean it like I described before and then take the lid off and let it dry for an hour, it's the same thing. :) Is there anything I don't like about it? Not really, although it took me a while to learn how to hold the razor without my finger over the power button. Next. 5 stars are 5 stars. :) Bottom line, I've had this thing for about a month now and it's fantastic. Great purchase, don't hesitate!
