I was really expecting a decent product after reading a few reviews and was thrilled to get a bookshelf with plenty of space at a great price. serve me! This thing is painful to put together. In less than an hour, several poles had already popped out of holes in the shelves. I ended up needing a hammer to make the bars fit snugly into the holes in the shelves. It seemed to work and we made sure the heavy books on the bottom shelves were balanced with the lighter ones on the top shelves. In the second week everything was in shambles. The "linings" of the shelf are nothing more than fragile foam rubber, so every time a book is taken out and put back in, it wears out. Especially with hardcover books that puncture liners. Save yourself the hassle and money and stay away from it!
