warm welcome!

I used several different antennas for my TV - I never had cable. Most antennas (my last one was a thin "blade" design with an attached amplifier) were fine, but received few channels and were prone to signal loss, especially as I live near a small airport. Planes, helicopters and even the wind often disrupted the signal. I tried the Antop model with a desk mount near a small window that overlooks the broadcast towers next to me. All towers are within 18 miles of my house. In the table, the site receives 21 channels, not everything is clear; the leaf antenna has become much larger. So I moved the antenna to the glass door opposite the towers; that gave me 36 channels. I then tried mounting the antenna on top of a 6 foot ladder near the door; which received 28 channels. I decided to move the antenna to a storage spot in my garage, about 10 feet off the ground, and aimed it at the towers and through the garage wall. There are 55 channels! Not all of these channels are interesting, but I can't fault the antenna for that. Reception was solid with no interference from aircraft or wind. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to others. There is one problem though: I ran a coax cable from the back of my Bose Wave IV radio through the garage and back through the wall to connect to the amp. But the supplied connection to my radio does not work. The ANTOP AT-719 looks like it should fit, but the metal base keeps the contact from snagging on the radio. Is there another compound like AT-719 with a shorter metal jacket? Can I trim the jacket about 1/4 inch and try it? That issue aside, I'm very happy with the Antop AT-800SBS.
