Crocodiles are made of horribly smelly plastic
There was a smell of crocodile skin shoes in the whole basement - as soon as we knew where the smell was coming from. We picked them up and the foul smell was wiped from our hands, we washed and washed our hands several times and the smell was still on them. It's similar to an onion, but the final smell is plasticky. We ended up having to dip our hands in lemon and bleach to get the smell out!
